Given an upredictable mountain environment there are two things that always make sense regardless of whether you hike alone or guided:
1) Record the track on your smartphone from the start so you could trace it back if things go south.
2) Carry an extra powerbank on you all the time. Batteries do not last long when it is freezing.

We encourage every mountaineer to download local gps tracks. Your fancy smartphone can actually save your life.

Be safe guys.

Wonderful experience! Me and my 2 girl friends went on a 3 day nature tour to see the canyons, lakes, and waterfalls in Kazakhstan in late March. We all enjoyed staying at a guesthouse in one of the villages. These guys were very flexible, patient, and gave great suggestions when weather was not permitting to original plans. As a group of females, we felt we were in safe, trustworthy, and capable hands. They really want to show the beauty that is Kazakhstan!

4000 peaks ascent
Hi, this is Laurent, French 50 y/o professor. I was on a business trip to Almaty apr. 2018 and have contacted Asamat and Sergey with objective to climb 4000 peaks. I've truly appreciated their kindness and professionalism. We did the Big Almaty Peak (3700 masl) one day and Tourist peak (3960 masl) the day after. It has been a great moment. The team knows very well the region and is very cautious (it was high avalanche season). I strongly recommend their services.

Had tons of fun ~ Azamat and Sergey are the best guides. Great hikes through beautiful canyons, lakes, and waterfalls. Adventurous (but safe) driving through the mud, snow, and rocky roads.

They planned very well and packed our itinerary so we saw a huge variety of sights in our 3 days. Azamat was very communicative over facebook in answering our questions before the trip. Also nice Kazakh/Russian soundtrack in the car for our trip :)

The hiking was very beautiful and the guides customized the level of activity to fit our group. Convenient pickup in Almaty too, and it was great to get out of the city and see some nature and rural life. Would highly recommend that visitors to Almaty get out of the city and travel into rural Kazakhstan with these guys!

I had such an amazing experience being in town for just a few days. Azamat was so accommodating and put together a perfect 1 day hike. Even when the weather came in he made it even more fun knowing that I liked a challenge. He had all the right gear to lend me and even met me the day before to go over what we needed. Since I enjoyed myself so much, we did another half day hike. I highly recommend him for his knowledge and skills and of course English skills. Can't wait to do it again.

Specialisation: single-day tours, english-speaking guide, awesomest places near Almaty, photo-shootings.
I am fluent in English and love mountains. So I woke up one morning and decided to do guiding for english-speaking public.
Got extensive knowledge of mountains around the city, some emergency situations skills (First aid sertificate from Red Crescent of Kazakhstan) and some serious issues being the most overprotective guide ever (as our co-guide Sergey says).
Besides that I do part-time job in investments (MSc Finance degree from Heriot-Watt university) and some pet projects in retail.
Sergey
Specialisation: multi-day trekkings and 4wd tours, extreme mountaineering, local authentic food.
I'm a professional mountain guide, experienced off-road driver, extreme backcountry snowboard enthusiast and the most reliable person ever met (as Aza says).
My english is not as good as Aza's but i know enough. "We are almost there" usually covers most of the questions.
As a team we can meet any request and make your trip truly safe and awesome.

When you stand on an empty stony plateau alone
under the fathomless dome of Asia in whose blueness an airplane
or an angel sometimes whips up its starch or star-
when you shudder at how infinitesimally small you are,
remember: space that appears to need nothing does
crave, as a matter of fact, an outside gaze,
a criterion of emptiness - of its depth and scope.
And it's only you who can do the job.
